Lightweight cages are not recommended for untrained or powerful dogs. They are designed for occasional supervised use. They are guaranteed against manufacturers faults but not covered against damage caused by the dog.

There no free gifts with this Budget range of cages.

Our new Lightweight Budget cages come in 3 sizes. 25", 30" and 36". We don't carry larger ones because we feel that larger powerful dogs should use our DH range. We also recommend that people with staffie's and similar types of powerful dogs should also use the DH range.
They all have 2 doors, the 36" has 2 bolts per door.

Doghealth Lightweight fold flat cage

Our new economy cage has been built to offer a low cost dog housing solution for smaller dogs.

When you invest in a dog cage you have a range of choices as to the quality you buy. And not surprisingly, more expensive cages are better built with higher safety standard and should be designed for life time use. In particular whilst the standard epoxy coating will give adequate protection in normal use for a season, it is not comparable to the quality finish associated with a quality cage.  ( For example, Doghealth’s dual coated cages are designed to be rust free for life)

The cheaper cages are excellent for what they are designed to do and it is up to you to decide what your requirements are.

Which Cage?

If you are an occasional user and your dog will not spend much time in the cage, subject to the strength of your dog and his ability to be robust when caged, then for smaller cages you should be OK with an economy cage. I think that for cages above 36” in length it is a foolish economy as such cages need to be strong enough to cope with aggressive behaviour!

If you want a rugged cage that will last for the lifetime of your dog, be in use daily and subject to regular hygiene and where strength and safety are more important than price, then consider a higher quality cage.

Standard features of lightweight cage

  • Twin doors
  • Twin bolt on 36” cage
  • Slide out plastic tray
  • Epoxy coated
  • Rounded corners to the frame
  • Lightweight
  • Easy to erect and collapse
